Job Description/Responsibilities:
--Ensuring the implementation of decisions, policies, and programs of GNAT in the region.
--Directing activities within the region relating to coordination and participation in the recruitment and retention of members.
--Liaising with executives, districts, and local officers
--Assisting and supporting districts in negotiation with local authorities
Assisting in the coordination and training of members throughout the region.
Resolving personal cases of members and staff.
--Liaising with the governmental and non-governmental organizations in matters related to education and the welfare of teachers.

--Monitoring the district and local branches of the association.
--Appraising the performance of staff in the region.
--Ensuring financial discipline in GNAT secretariats in the region.
--Ensuring proper administration of GNAT secretariats in the region
--Submitting termly, annual, and other reports on activities in the region.
--Submit monthly financial reports to the Headquarters through the Financial Controller.
--Projecting the union through the media and other avenues in conjunction with Regional Executive.
--Performing any duty assigned by the General Secretary or his / her representative

Let us take a look at your Level of Responsibility or who you are accountable for. You would be directly accountable to the General Secretary through the Deputy General Secretary, Administration, and Labor Relations.

Qualifications:
Must be a professional teacher not below the rank of Assistant Director I with years on the rank.
Should not be below 40 years or above 55 years of age at the time of appointment (31″ August 2022). Must possess a working knowledge of the basic computer applications in Word. Also, the candidate must not have less than 5 years experience in the rank, Assistant secretary I (Assistant Regional Secretary) with not less than 5 years on the rank; or Assistant Secretary II (District Secretary) with not less than 7 years in the rank. Must possess a first degree from a recognized university in a relevant subject area. Excel and PowerPoint knowledge is required.

Remuneration:
